Interview with auther Hitomi Fanel.
L.H: I'm going to ask some basic Q's now.
LH:What name would you like to go by for this interview?
A: Courtney (KetaChan), because believe it or not I really do have a Real name
A: Pam (PamiChan)
LH:How old are you?
A: Courtney: Im the youngin 18 to answer your question.
A: Pam: 20
L.H:If you go to school...do you like it?
A: Courtney: Im currently enrolled at Radford University in Radford Virginia. As for me liking it... its school. I like it as much as school can be liked.
A: Pam: When I went to school, no.
LH: What's your fav subject?
A: Courtney: This is a hard one, but I gotta say English; its because I do so well in it. However at the moment Im fascinated with my anthropology class.
A: Pam: I loved History, Creative Writing
LH: Do lots of your freinds like anime?
A: Courtney: Yep! Who wouldnt? Its great stuff. Its like reading a book with pictures, and yes I do mean reading because if its not subtitled its not anime!!!!
A: Pam: Just a few. And the ones who do are the ones who are going away...off to college, into the military. It's getting kind of lonely around here.
LH:Do you have plans for a future in writing?
A: Courtney: Yeah, my English paper that is due next week.
A: Pam: Maybe, maybe not. It all depends on if I ever finish anything. :
LH:What do you plan to be (if not a writer)?
A: Courtney: If I knew I would tell ya. But one thing is for sure I dont think writing is in my future. I do enjoy it but its not something I want ta do for a living.
A: Pam: I'm either going to study psychology or something like archaeology or anthropology. All that stuff simply fascinates me.
LH:Are you going to college?
A: Courtney: Yeah! ::looks to pami::: You say something mean about my college and Ill try to kick your ass!
A: Pam: ::smirks:: You have said it all, mfriend. Im not in school yet, but I plan on going.
LH:What is your Favorite Anime?
A: Courtney: OH its gotta be Escaflowne, yes the movie too. But the Evangelion series come in at a close second
A: Pam: Oh, goodness, that's a hard one. I'm certainly not as versed in anime as many other people are. Of what I've seen, I'd say it's a toss-up between Escaflowne and Ranma 1/2
LH: Who is your fav Anime guy or gal?
A: Courtney: ::smiles sheepishly:: KenSan!!!! Gotta love that red hair!
A: Pam: Tasuki from Fushigi Yuugi. I guess we both have a thing for red hair. :
LH:Do you have any siblings?
A: Courtney: Nope! But at times I do feel that pami is a big sister to me.
A: Pam: Yes, I'm in the middle of two brothers. One is 23, the other is 14.
LH:Do they like anime too?
A: ::turns to pami:: do you?
A: Pam: ::rolls eyes:: what a question...Only my younger brother likes anime. He's always trying to sneak into my Manga collection.
LH: Okay now that we all feel like we know you better lets
get on the fun stuff.

LH:How did you get into writing?
A: Courtney: Its all her fault!! ::sticks a finger in Pams face:: no but really my writing once sucked really, really bad, it still would at times, well my grammar would, if it werent for my sis here. :: puts an arm around pami::: She was the one who got me started writing because she couldnt comprehend how I could be doing so bad in English. So she and I made up this story, ::gives a sour face:: god that thing was horrible whatever did we do with that thing? :: looks to pami:: Anyhow she made me sit down front of my computer, like the slave driver that she is, and write till I finally got it correct and if I didnt .... Well lets just say it wasnt too fun. LOL
A: Pam: Mine is quite a different story. I've been an avid reader for as long as I can remember (I guess that's why subtitles suit me : ), and it was reading that got me into writing. I found that the stories I read didn't always satisfy me. I would imagine how I could change the scene to make it better. Then I thought about writing it down. But I didn't start my writing life as a fanfic writer. The first story I put down on paper was my own idea. Of course, the main character was fashioned after myself. I think most writers are looking for a way to have their own adventures. I could be wrong, but half the fun is getting into someone else's head and controlling them.
LH:Have you writen other fanfics for other anime?
A: Courtney: Nope. I might one day if I ever get Escaflowne: legend of the fallen done.
A: Pam: Nothing I've ever finished. I am currently working on a story for Fushigi Yuugi, starring Tasuki, of course. : I'm working on this one alone, however, so it will more likely be of a different style than Keta's and my "Legend of the Fallen" for Escaflowne.
LH:Do you read manga?
A: Courtney: yep, its the stuff that dreams are made of.
A: Pam: I do. I currently have 12 volumes of Sailor Moon, 3 of Fushigi Yuugi, 1 of Ranma 1/2 and 1 of Clover, a series by Clamp.
LH:Do you read a lot of Fanfics?
A: Courtney: I try to read them... does that count?? Umm but no really I do try and read other peoples writings every now and again. It helps me to procrastinate when Im doing math homework and things like that.
A: Pam: I do, but most of them are not based on anime. I read X-files fanfic, Kung Fu: the Legend Continues fanfic, and occasionally some SM, FY, Escafic and Rurouni Kenshin fanfic.
LH:Do you have a fav fanfic author?
A: Courtney: I have several.
A: Pam: Yes, but he writes X-fic. His penname is Dawson Rambo.
LH:Who is your favorite Escaflowne Charactor?
A: Courtney: Meruru.... She just so damn cute!
A: Pam: Baan. : ) He's so tortured, it's wonderful. (Yes, I AM the reason Baan suffers so much in Legend of the Fallen. Mwahahahahaha!!)
LH:Do you have anyone that really encourages you to write?
A: Courtney: Yep pami and all the people on my fan list who write me and yell that I need to finish quicker...::note to self change Email address::
A: Pam: My mom and my grandparents. It's great. : ) But, they want to read what I write, and that's annoying, especially since most of my stuff isn't finished. Also, they probably wouldn't like it, so I'm hesitant about showing them anything.

LH:Onward to your Escaflowne Story.
LH:Where did the idea for this fic come to you at?
A: Courtney: Umm it just kinda came as we wrote it. I remember sitting stunned at the last episode, as so many of us esca fans were, and I remember turning to pami and telling her how I felt cheated and that I wanted another ending and I wanted it now!! I cant remember when we started to write it but we eventually did and the rest is history... well fanfiction at least.
Well, thats WHY we wrote it. But it's actually based on this story that Courtney and I have been working on basically as long as we've known each other. Unfortunately, it didn't work as an original creation, so Ms. Courtney decided to put it to good use, as the basis for an after-the-series Esca-fic.
LH:Is there some one in your fic that you modeled after a
real life person?
A: Courtney: No not really.... We try to stay with the original characters as much as we can
A: Pam: Nope, not that I can think of.
LH: I always wonder where the names for story come from, how did you pick the name for yours. (Please state the name of your fic)
Escaflowne: Legend of the fallen.
A: Courtney: ::looks puzzled:: ya know I dont even remember anymore. I think I stole it from an old story of mine that I trashed....
A: Pam: Well, the title is based on the story of the fallen angels, i.e., the Draconians or Atlanteans. Thus, "Legend of the Fallen".
LH:How did you come up with the names for any Original Chara.'s?
A: Courtney: LOL!! Umm actually this is kinda funny. We couldnt figure out what the hell to name people so we did the next best thing... we went to this web page and got all these random Japanese words and went from there
A: Pam: For Legend of the Fallen, most of the original Characters get their names from a personality trait and/or coloring, translated (loosely) into Japanese.
LH: Did you have something that inspired you to write this fic?
A: Courtney: I was pissed at the ending of Esca, so I wanted to make a new one.
A: Pam: Yeah, they didnt even KISS, dammit!
LH:And to wrap things up, Do you have any plans for a
sequal to your fic, or any other works in the Esca
realm in the near future?
A: Courtney: I might.... Wouldnt you like to know...
A: Pam: Well, since this story is still very much in the works, I think the answer to that question will have to wait. :
