A.I with Hitomi Fanel

Okay...here it goes....

LH:Okay lets get some basic info frist,Hitomi-san.

LH:How old are you?

HF:21 years old

LH:Are you going to college?

HF:Yes; Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania

LH:Whats your major?

HF:Theatre (minor in Dance)

LH:Your Pen Name is Hitomi Fanel?

HF:Yes

LH:Do you mind telling us your first name?

HF:Lisa

LH:Favorite Anime?

HF:I don't have a favorite. I like all the anime I've
seen for different reasons. Of course there's no denying I love Escaflowne, but some other ones I really love include Sailor Moon, Fushigi Yugi, Ranma 1/2 and Princess Mononoke.

LH:Any siblings?

HF:Yes, two sisters: twin sister Leigh, younger sister Toni

LH:Do they like anime too?

HF:Leigh loves anime just like me, Toni thinks it's okay

LH: Okay now that we all feel like we know you better lets
get on the fun stuff.

LH:How did you get into writing?

HF:I've been writing as a hobby since I was
thirteen. When I'm not very social, that's when I write the most. I was a military brat growing up, so I never had the same circle of friends. It was only this summer when I seriously thought about possibly adding writing
to my acting/singing/dancing career.

LH:Have you writen other fanfics for other anime?

HF:Yes; Sleeping Serenity, a Sailor Moon fanfic, combining the stories of Sailor Moon SS and Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty.
If fans want to find the Sleeping Serenity fic, go to anipike.com, find Little Moon Fanfiction on the Sailor Moon fanfiction page, and browse until you find Sleeping Serenity. My pen name here is Sailor Lisa Moon.

LH:I think you told me, correct me if I'm wrong here,
that you had writen a book?

HF:Yes, I've written a book called "A Key's Secret" and it is a romantic mystery.

LH:Have you published yet?

HF:Not yet, but I'm sending it in sometime in the year 2002.

LH:Would you mind telling us a bit about it, or when we
could get our own copy?

HF:This is a story about a girl named Danielle who
travels through time to the early 1900s. If you've ever seen the movies Pride and Prejudice, Emma, or Sense and Sensibility, you'd know what period I'm referring to. Danielle has never been in love before, but through
adventures and matchmaking games in the past, she finally discovers the true meaning of love, and the big mystery as to why she traveled through time! If any fan would like to read this, I'd be willing to send them chapters through email. I need all the feedback I can get on this before I
send it in for publication. Fans can email me by looking at my fan fiction, my address is posted there.

-----------------------------------------

LH:Onward to your Escaflowne Story.

LH:Where did the idea for this fic come to you at?

HF:After I saw the whole Escaflowne series, the idea all of a sudden came to me, and I started writing. I obviously wanted more romance between Van and Hitomi, and I
wanted a murder mystery in it too, to make readers sit on the edge of their seats! I found a way to use most of the characters from the episodes, including Yuri and Leon Schezar (I continued their story) and I made it
fit somehow. It is truly a miracle that this story came together so well.

LH:Is there some one in your fic that you modled after a
real life person?

HF:For the most part, I just simply thought of the characters as they were from the series, except of course I thought of them as more mature and older. However, for Van and Hitomi, I sort of modeled them after two characters from my favorite soap opera. The characters are Danny and Michelle Santos from the best soap, "Guiding Light!" These
two characters pretty much look like Van and Hitomi. Danny has black hair and he's darker like Van, and Michelle has brown hair and has a lighter complexion like Hitomi. I wasn't directly thinking of Danny and Michelle as I was writing the fic, but after I finished it, I realized that the changes I made in personality to Van and Hitomi as more mature characters were very similar to the personalities of Danny and Michelle. It was purely by coincidence that these two sets of couples look alike.

LH:You have a lemon part in your fic, was it hard to
write?

HF:It was not hard to write. Passion and romance are my favorite genres in everything--movies, TV shows, novels...I get my ideas from everywhere and writing it on paper is just a wonderful experience. I just love to capture the beautiful essence of love on paper.

LH:You really do express your self wonderfully, any plans
for a job writing full time?

HF:The direction I'm headed for in life is a career in the arts--acting, singing, and dancing. Writing will
definitely be part of that, especially if I can get my first book to sell.

----------------------------------------------

LH:Back to your personal likes.

LH:Do you read manga?

HF:Unfortunately I do not.

LH:Do you read a lot of Fanfics?

HF:I have read a lot. I've read a big book and a few short stories. I've also read a few fics from the Hitomi's Angel
site (I love them!), and I've also read Sailor Moon fics.

LH:Do you have a fav fanfic author?

HF:I really admire the author of Escaflowne: The Continuation. Her name is Louise I believe. She writes with a lot of detail, and her story is so involved.

LH:Who is your favorite Escaflowne Charactor?

HF:Who is your favorite Escaflowne Charactor? I don't think I have a character. All of them are so involved, and they all connect somehow by the end of the series. I really like it when this happens. I do have to say that Van and Hitomi are my favorite couple from Escaflowne. I
wanted to see more of a relationship blossom between them. I love Van because he's cute. He can be quite a jerk, but deep down, he's kind for the most part...and I love Hitomi because she's a fairly mature character, and she has a good sense of what is morally right and wrong. I also love how
she saves Van's life all the time. The connection between these two is so amazing. And of course, I love the psychpath Dilandau. Yes, he's a pyromaniac, but the things he says sends chills down my spine. He's one of the best anime villains I've ever seen.

LD:As a whole out of every anime you have seen, who is
your faovrite charactor?

HF:Sailor Moon/Usagi. She is so much like me in
personality, and in life goals. She's outgoing, and she has a positive out look on life. She may be a crybaby at times, but she's very strong. She has passions just like me, and she's opposed to violence in every way. She
also has a mature way of thinking for someone who's only a teen. Also, Sailor Moon/Usagi brings out the best in
people.

LH:And to wrap things up, Do you have any plans for a
sequal to your fic, or any other works in the Esca
realm in the near future?

HF:I've thought about creating a sequel, but I
don't know where to go with it. I won't write anything unless I know where I'm going with the plot, or I get some big inspiration. Nothing like that has happened since I wrote this. I probably won't write anything else on
Escaflowne, just because this novel is a big epic, and one of the best novels I've ever written. I just don't think I could recreate something different and better than this. If I were to write anything, it would probably be just a short story.
